In a candid conversation with Divya Roy Choudhury, Mr. Shashank Ruiwala, CEO, Formujet, shares the current and future plans of the company.
Before getting down lets go through a little about the company – Founded in 1988, Track Engineers is a name to reckon with when it comes to Indian imaging remanufacturing industry. The company offers a vast range and gamut of printing consumables ranging from raw materials to equipments. Track Engineers enjoys a vast reach all over the India and we are proud to be a known brand outside Indian boundaries as well.
They have successfully dominated the Indian market in Dot-Matrix printer consumable industry and now have conquered the challenges of the Inkjet and Laser technology revolutions by introducing excellent innovations one after the other.
DRC – What all are the recent solution offerings by Formujet?
SR – Formujet offers a plethora of products like compatible toner cartridges and parts for entire new range of HP toner cartridges like CF218, CF219, CF287, CF256, CF279, CF281, and CF214 etc. We also offer new variant in copier toners for Cannon IR Series which is compatible with a range of copiers’ machines including IR 5075, IR6570, and IR 6000 along with IR3300.
DRC – GST has taken everybody on a roller coaster ride, do you think that it is going
to affect imaging industry too? If Yes then how?
SR – Off course, we are a part of the industry and it will definitely affect us also, however in a positive way. Formujet have always believed in fair business practices, so the GST will definitely work in our favor. Formujet is with the slogan, One nation, One Tax. As any other new development would have done, GST will also bring along a lot of changes and corrections.
DRC – What future trends and scope you foresee in this segment?
SR – As you know that our industry is an aftermarket industry, therefore the directions are set by the OEMs. HP mainly has introduced many new printer models in last 1 year and introduced new technology called JET INTELLIGENCE similarly multifunction devices space is occupied by RICOH, Konica Minolta, Sharp, and Toshiba etc. There would be more placements of the MFDs in Corporate and New Sectors. Apart from this there are lots of development happening in inkjet tank printers. All OEMs are pushing their products. Epson remains market leader followed by HP, Cannon & Brother. We will definitely see increasing demands in consumable and parts in future.

DRC – Are you planning to enhance your production capacity so as to meet the ever growing customer demand?
SR – At Indigo we have taken many new initiatives to strengthen our production, delivery and quality processes, we have a full fledged in house R&D & QC team of 6 Executives. Monitoring all operations at every stage of production and packaging, we continuously keep on testing new products, applications and new variants. Talking about the product segment we have recently added manufacturing machines and automated lines to our bottling machines thus enhancing our toner bottling capacity to 10000 bottles per day.
DRC – What all technological advancements are incorporated in the new range of your products to further intensify the users’ experience?
SR – At indigo we continuously explore new business opportunity in digital printing solution. Many new inkjet applications are being explored and we have added good number of products in this category. This includes sublimation printing, id card printing, photo printing, large format printing, digital textiles, signage and engineering applications. We invest good amount in product testing and development in all these area by virtue of which we are able to satisfy our customers.
DRC – What kind of initiatives are you taking to further strengthen the business and for broadening delivery systems?
SR – We are taking all the vital steps that are crucial for the development of our brand. Like from advertising to focusing on after sales service. We have made it a point that we must take absolute care of our after sales service. Apart from this indigo is striving hard to maintain its policy of on time delivery. On time delivery and meeting the deadlines is a crucial part of our system. But as I said earlier as well, Quality remains on the top of the list when it comes to jotting down the initiatives to strengthen the business.
